Walk Grades, Length & Time

The walk/s grade, length and time of the walk/s are listed for every trip - as a guide

All walks are Grade 1-3 and generally no more than 10 kms, unless specified.

The Grade ratings are based on the Australian Walking Track Grading System (AWTGS) used by Parks Victoria - more information here

No bushwalking experience required. Flat even surface with no steps or steep sections.

Grade 1 (easy)

No bushwalking experience required. A hardened or compacted surface which may have gentle hill sections or occasional steps. Walks up to 10km.

Grade 2 (medium)

Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Tracks may have short steep sections, a rough surface and many steps. Walks up to 20km.

Grade 3 (hard)

What to bring

  • Sturdy shoes or boots

  • Comfortable clothes for walking

  • A small backpack

  • A sun hat, sunglasses and sunscreen

  • Insect repellent (optional)

  • Lunch

  • A bottle of water - 1-2 litres
